FIRST REGIONAL MEETING OF SOUTHEAST EUROPE SPORTS BETTING ASSOCIATIONS HELD ON THE MARGINS OF EOGL BANJA LUKA CONFERENCE

On the margins of July 11 EOGL Banja Luka Conference New Regulatory Landscape in Southeast Europe – Implications to Responsible Gaming Standards, the First Regional Meeting of Southeast Europe Sports Betting Associations had been held at Hotel Bosna in Banja Luka. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of legal sports betting trade associations from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania and North Macedonia.

After the opening notes, all the participants provided brief overview of latest regulatory trends and changes in the Gambling Laws of their respective national jurisdictions.

In addition, the participants agreed that as of 2020, July 7 will be marked as the Responsible Gambling Day throughout the region. By establishing the Responsible Gambling Day, the representatives of Regional associations agreed to emphasize the importance of the problem of pathological gambling and initiate broader social campaign aimed at raising awareness of public on the problems and risks related with pathological gambling throughout the Southeast Europe. As agreed, this process will also include different public authorities, social organizations and professional associations in various programs of prevention.

The Meeting was adjourned with joint statement of all the participants.
